We carried out an EV charger installation on Chattinghall Road in Hamilton for a customer who wanted a tethered Ohme Home Pro 7.4kW home EV charger, capable of charging both their Skoda Elroq and Tesla Model 3 from the property's large driveway. The home was a substantial stone-built bungalow with thick external walls, offering several possible charger locations. During our survey, the customer explained they wanted the installation to be as discreet as possible, with no visible cabling inside the property. They were happy for the cable to be fixed externally if required, particularly as under-floor access beneath the bungalow was very limited. After assessing the property's layout, our team designed a cable route that met the customer's requirements. We installed a new dedicated mini EV consumer unit alongside the home's existing consumer unit, which was conveniently positioned on an external wall. This allowed the 3-core armoured EV cable to exit the property through a carefully drilled and fully sealed entry point, keeping the internal installation almost entirely hidden. From there, the cable was routed neatly around the exterior of the bungalow for approximately eight metres before reaching the customer's chosen charger location. The tethered Ohme Home Pro was securely mounted beside the driveway, allowing both the Skoda Elroq and Tesla Model 3 to be charged exactly where they would normally be parked. Following installation, the charger was fully tested, commissioned and configured with the customer's preferred overnight EV electricity tariff before the handover was completed. The finished installation provided a neat, practical and future-proof home charging solution that complemented the property while allowing both electric vehicles to benefit from fast, reliable overnight charging at home.
