We supply and install a wide range of smart home EV chargers throughout Airdrie, including tethered and untethered 7kW models from leading manufacturers such as Ohme, Hypervolt, Zappi, Tesla, Zaptec, SyncEV, Andersen and Project EV. Most modern electric cars use Type 2 AC charging, giving customers a wide choice of compatible chargers rather than being restricted to a charger made by the vehicle manufacturer.
Before installation, we assess the existing electrical supply, consumer unit, available capacity, parking position and complete cable route. That could result in a straightforward wall-mounted driveway charger or a more involved installation using underfloor routes, armoured cable, a garage or a dedicated charger post.
We can also configure compatible smart features including charging schedules, app connectivity, current limits and load management as part of commissioning.

We recently carried out an EV charger installation in Airdrie for a customer whose driveway and parking bay were around 15 metres away from the main part of the property. The customer had previously been told by others that the installation could not be done, or that it would take several days to complete. After surveying the property, we designed a practical solution that allowed the charger to be installed properly within the day. The installation involved fitting a dedicated mini consumer unit in the property's electrical cupboard, then routing the cable under the floor to the far end of the property before bringing it outside through a drilled exit point. From there, the cable route continued underground. A trench was dug to allow the cable to be laid at the appropriate depth, before the route continued towards a brick pathway leading to the customer's parking area. We then installed a dedicated steel EV charger post in the customer's preferred position and mounted the charger there. The result was a fully installed and commissioned home EV charger delivered within the day, despite the more involved route and groundwork required. The customer was delighted with the finished result, the quality of the work and the fact they could now charge at home on a lower overnight electricity rate rather than relying on public charging or workplace charging in Airdrie.
Public EV charging is available around Airdrie and the wider North Lanarkshire area and can be useful when travelling or needing a quick top-up. For regular charging, however, having a dedicated charger at home is generally more convenient and can allow drivers to make use of compatible lower-cost overnight electricity tariffs rather than relying on public or workplace charging.
We come across a variety of different situations - but rest assured, we've seen them all, and can decipher from the initial survey what's required, what can be done, and how we can do it.
We install EV chargers in a wide range of properties across Airdrie and ML6 - from homes with straightforward private driveways, to properties where the garage or parking space is some distance from the main electrical supply. We have experience planning installations where the charger cannot simply be fitted beside the consumer unit, including homes requiring under-floor cable routes, external armoured cable, dedicated EV equipment and chargers positioned further along the property. Our recent Airdrie installation, where the customer's parking position was around 15 metres from the house, is a good example of this. The important considerations are the electrical supply, available capacity, parking position and whether a safe, practical cable route can be achieved.
The parked position of your EV is one of the first things we consider when planning an EV charger installation. Where the car is parked directly beside the property, a wall-mounted charger can often provide a simple and convenient solution. Where the parking space is further away, beside a garage or separated from the main building, we'll assess other options rather than just installing the EV Charger in the easiest position - this is why we lay everything out for you before proceeding. We also have extensive experience with longer cable routes, underground sections, and dedicated steel EV charger posts where these end up providing the best solution. The final charger position is always agreed with the customer before installation, so the charging cable reaches the vehicle comfortably, and the finished installation works well for everyday use.
The main challenge on many EV charger installations is finding the best route between the electrical supply and the parking position. Where a simple external cable route is not suitable, we can assess alternatives including internal or underfloor routes, armoured cable, detached garages and pedestal locations. We also check available electrical capacity and can configure load management where necessary so the charger operates appropriately alongside the rest of the property's electrical demand.

The cost depends on the charger selected and the installation itself. Factors can include cable length, charger position, electrical protection, the existing consumer unit, load management and whether additional work such as a pedestal or armoured cable route is required. We provide a clear quotation after reviewing the installation requirements, with budget and premium charger options available.
We install a range of leading home EV chargers, including options from manufacturers such as Ohme, Hypervolt, Zappi, Tesla, Zaptec, SyncEV, Project EV and other chargers within our current range. We can recommend suitable options based on your vehicle, smart charging requirements, preferred cable type, tariff features and budget.
Yes. Not every EV charger installation has the consumer unit and parking position beside each other. We regularly assess longer and more complex cable routes and can consider solutions involving garages, external armoured cable, underfloor routes, charger pedestals and load management where appropriate. Photos are often enough to assess straightforward work, while more complex installations may benefit from a site survey.
