We install a wide variety of smart home EV Chargers in Renfrew, including tethered and untethered units from Ohme, Hypervolt, Zappi, Zaptec, Tesla, SyncEV, Andersen and Project EV. Most current EVs use Type 2 home charging, allowing you to choose from a range of compatible chargers rather than automatically using one made by the vehicle manufacturer. We can recommend options based on your car, budget, where you park and how you would prefer to handle the charging cable.
There are also options for app-based control, timed overnight charging, compatible EV tariff integration, solar charging and load management. Before installation, we assess the existing electrical supply and consumer unit and agree where the charger will be most useful. At Renfrew properties where the ideal charging point is on a fence, separate structure or elsewhere beside the parking space rather than on the house itself, we can plan the cable route and mounting arrangement around that.

Renfrew has semi-detached homes, detached houses, townhouses, bungalows, newer developments and apartments with allocated parking. EV charger installation in Renfrew often depends on whether the parking is private, shared or part of a residential development, so we assess the property carefully before confirming the best home charging option.

We carried out an EV charger installation in Renfrew for a customer who had just taken delivery of a new BYD Seal and wanted a dedicated home charger installed as soon as possible. During the survey, they explained their usual parking arrangement and that the vehicle would be charged at the side of the house. The property’s original front driveway had previously been removed and replaced with a grassed garden area, so the charger position and cable route needed to be planned around how the vehicle was actually parked. After assessing the property layout, parking position and preferred charger location, we planned a practical route from the main consumer unit, which was located within the front porch area of the home. The customer selected a Deta.e eDock2 EV charger, which was positioned on the fence running around the perimeter of the property, close to where the BYD Seal would normally be parked. To achieve a tidy finish, our team routed the 3-core armoured EV cable from the consumer unit and through a carefully drilled exit point in the exterior wall. The cable was then fixed neatly along the fence line and brought through to the required charger position. The Deta.e eDock2 was securely mounted, connected and commissioned, giving the customer a dedicated 7.4kW home charging setup for their new BYD Seal. The completed installation provided a clean and practical solution based around the customer’s actual parking arrangement, allowing the vehicle to be charged conveniently at home rather than relying on public EV chargers around Renfrew.
Renfrew drivers have public charging around Braehead Shopping Centre, Kings Inch Road, the Normandy Hotel and local routes towards Paisley and Hillington. Public chargers are handy for shopping trips or occasional use, but for everyday EV ownership, a home charger is usually the better long-term setup for overnight charging.
We come across a variety of different situations - but rest assured, we've seen them all, and can decipher from the initial survey what's required, what can be done, and how we can do it.

Renfrew properties may have private driveways, allocated spaces, shared residential parking, garage access or side routes around the building. We assess the parking setup before quoting so customers understand what permissions, cable runs or installation work may be needed.
Renfrew customers often want home charging that fits around commuting, airport journeys, business park travel and family driving. A tethered charger can make regular overnight charging quicker and easier, while an untethered model may suit customers who prefer a cleaner look when the charger is not in use. We also check whether the charger is suitable for the customer’s vehicle, mileage, EV tariff and any future plans such as solar or a second EV.
